Reggio Emilia inspired early childhood education in the heart of Miller, Edmonton. A nurturing space where children explore, create, and grow through play-based learning.
At Strathcona Little Nest, we are passionate about early childhood education with a strong focus on the Reggio Emilia approach. This philosophy views children as capable, curious, and full of potential. It focuses on learning through exploration, creativity, and meaningful relationships.
We believe children learn best when they follow their interests, ask questions, and express their ideas through art, play, and conversation. Instead of being told what to do, children are encouraged to discover and think for themselves while educators guide and support their learning journey.

Learning together, growing together
From infants to school-age children, our programs are thoughtfully designed to meet the developmental needs of each age group while honouring every child's unique learning journey.
A warm, secure environment where infants build trust and begin exploring the world through sensory experiences and gentle care.
Active exploration and budding independence are celebrated as toddlers develop language, social skills, and confidence through guided play.
Creative, project-based learning inspired by children's interests prepares them for school while nurturing critical thinking and cooperation.
Before and after school care with enriching activities, homework support, and meaningful social experiences for older children.
Integrated enrichment experiences that nurture the whole child — body, mind, and spirit.
Children practice simple yoga poses and breathe together, shifting the room from busy and loud to calm and peaceful. It gives children a chance to slow down, listen to their bodies, and feel safe.
When children sing, dance, or explore instruments, their joy and confidence grow. Music brings a beautiful layer of self-expression and creativity to every day.
Our carefully curated outdoor environment invites curiosity and creativity, inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. Children feel free to explore, express wonder, and connect with nature.

While we are new to the Miller neighbourhood, our organization brings 18 years of experience serving families in the greater Edmonton community. Miller is the perfect home for Little Nest.
Miller is a vibrant, family-oriented community in northeast Edmonton known for its many young families, cultural diversity, and strong sense of belonging. With residents from South Asian, Black, Filipino, Chinese, Latin American, and many other backgrounds, it is a neighbourhood that celebrates multicultural traditions — and we do too.
We understand the importance of accessible, high-quality early childhood education for the families of Miller. Our 250-space centre was designed to serve this growing community's needs.
What makes our daycare special is the strong sense of warmth, belonging, and respect that we create for every child and family who walks through our doors.
We believe children are capable, curious, and full of wonder. Our role as educators is to listen carefully, observe their interests, and support their natural desire to explore and discover. Through play, creativity, outdoor exploration, and rich programming, children learn in ways that feel natural and joyful.
What truly makes our daycare special is the connection we build — with the children, with families, and with the learning process.
